The large Irish building materials firm, CRH, is having a very good year. According to a report by the Financial Times, Cevian Capital, Europe's largest activist firm, and a majority shareholder in CRH, has seen some impressive investment gains this year - largely thanks to its investment in CRH.

Shares of CRH have nearly tripled since Cevian got involved with the company in 2018, and now the company is expanding into the US market. This appreciation and activity has attracted other big-name investors like George Soros and Seth Klarman to get in on the action.

Although this movement has awarded shareholders, there is a flip side to the good news. It's causing some concern for Euronext Dublin, which has seen a lot of notable companies leaving in recent years. As always, we'll have to wait and see how this all plays out, but it's definitely another activist situation worth watching.
